This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

You better hope they don't look up the website from the card that Big-O gave them or else you've just assured yourself a lifetime of speeding tickets

  Saskie...to true. I'm hoping she'd be cool with the pot calling the kettle black thinking.

Phil did edit his comments, so I'm guessing he's expecting a site visit.

Saskie, good luck if you decide to head up with the Mrs. Truly an awesome experience.

this permit is good for 1 year it costs $10.00 and I was told all the money goes right back to the band,(not a rock band Markus  ) I would think it would help off set the cost of a C/o and police , Salmon might have a clearer answer....he's be fishing there for years...But I do Know one thing...DON'T GET CAUGHT FISHING WITH OUT ONE :!: :!: :!:

:D Glad to see you found them OK.. It seems with the good weather the run has been sustained longer than usual. This is however a strong year for pinks. The heavy year classes are the odd years. So next years run will be smaller....might only be 500,000 in the river instead of a million  The sturgeon are always at that rapid..there is a 50' hole on the flip side..they come up to feed on dropped salmon eggs. The walleye guys might have only been fishing in 20' at the edge. Its a good spot to drop a car topper..gravel ramp as you pull in the lot. The reserve area is large and covers many lakes. Some good ones for lake trout and pike and bass. Since I rent a cottage in the summer in the area it was worth the $10 tag for the year. The money just goes into the band treasury to be used as they see fit. The policing end would occur with or without the licence fees. OPP assist all bands in policing where possible. The area like many other areas of the province has wall to wall lakes and great fishing. It was good to hear the trip was worth it..after all its only a hop and a real big skip away.

Excellent read, Big-O, and gorgeous pic's. And you DO look great in waders!

That's something about the huge sturgeon. Without that fella telling you what you had on, I can't imagine what it would feel like to battle something so obviously immense and strong and wonder "what the heck?!"

Great report. Sounds like a rewarding trip and looks like a gorgeous spot.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Awesome report Phil.

I've only caught 1 of them in my life, on Manitoulin Island, about 12 years ago.
They look awesome with the hump back.

Gonna have to try them someday. :)

Gotta get back out fishing soon. :(

Keep the adventures coming.
