Weekend With Roughrider at Quinte(Now with pics)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey Phil,

I've put my boat away .... sort of  It's still at Hay Bay and an easy launch down the ramp. I may go up next weekend depending on the weather. This weekend I have other commitments. I'll keep you posted. Yeah, Superdad was fighting his fish when you guys radioed. We were wondering who that was. We actually tried to get you and Roughrider on the FRS and the VHF on Saturday. We went in pretty much right after we landed SD's fish. Talk to you later. Congrats to Topwater on the PB's and you and RR for getting into some nice fish!

cheers

Heard the call

Post by Superdad »

Phil,

We heard your radio call just as we fighting a fish. I radioedback that we had landed a fish, but never heard anything back.

I didn't know who was calling to call them back.

Glad you got some nice fish - there were a lot of marks east of the ferry.

Water temp in the 70-80 range a lot different than the water by the ferry 45-50' range - almost a five deg difference.

We're done for the year , waiting til March for Lakers on the big Lake and April for the Browns.

Did you hear one of the quintefishers reeling in his odd ball lure on Saturday hit a 6.5 lb brown east of the ferry?

Well, thanks for joining us Mike and Phil, always glad too have you guys aboard 8) :D :D

As a final cap to this trip,we had an excellent weather day Monday, warm with a little walleye chop 8) . I managed an 11lber and an 8.5 lber in the morning and Sue came out after lunch and got our final Eye at 6lbs around 3pm. :D, the pictures are on my throw away camera and i'm still hunting a big buck,I'll post some during the winter doldrums   .

We did'nt fish the far East area beyond the cave as snow covered ground and some guide info told us the fish were hitting around the Pull point area to the ferry. after launching at Mcfarland in the snow, once was more than plenty  . Even the Chevy got stuck trying to back up

I stayed close to Glen island bouy,a ton of fish were staged there Monday and i fished them alone, only One other boat in the whole bay

We finished up the weekend 7 for 11, and over half the hits came on Jr. sticks.,sorry Phil, but Dr. Death lost out to the Jrs. again

Good to see Superdad out there, sorry we missed you Sheldon :D

Hey Phil, you or Mike left a coat at the cottage,I have it so let me know who to mail it to.Good luck the rest of the season,no more snow trips for me.

roughrider out
