Gar Fishing- July 7

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Taylor, most HawkTalkers have no problems sharing tips. maybe not sharing Hot Spots, but I think that is why we have a lot of members but if I see that a member that is always asking and not giving out tips, I will not be giving him tips any more, it is a two-way street.

Hey Taylor! The tip was broadcasted to thousands when I asked for help on how to get gar...And it was by more than 1 person .

I have received PMs from people I have never even met telling me the same thing you did...I have never shared a spot or ''secret technique'' of someones.....and let me tell ya that tecnique was no secret

Thanks for all the reply guys! Hope to get into a few bigger ones before they move....

Yet another of the many reasons I love this site. Would we give away a honeyhole to just anyone? Well, no, but tips? Why not? Haven't we all benefited from them from one time to another? Sometimes the greatest reward is sharing the wealth.

Btw, congrats on the gar boys, have yet to add them to my species list!

Taylor, we joined this forum to gain knowledge about a common past time we all enjoy. We all learn from eachother, I ask for tips and I also share any info I can pass on to a fellow angler. You of course dont have to reveal a hot spot or a secret bait, but if a fellow forum user chooses to than its a choice and no one should critisize him or her for it. Alot of people in this group are eager to share their experiences and knowledge, for which I am greatful, it has helped me out alot. But just because someone shows a picture or two and I recognize it doesnt mean I am going to hop in the boat and go and fish it. Most people here tend to pass on things to others out of kindness and think that is great. I hope you dont think this is a harsh note, just thought I would add my two cents. Hope to read some reports from ya in the future.

It was just a suggestion. And my suggestion was based on the fact the young lad broadcasted a tip that was given to him, not something that seemed to be common knowledge or something he figured out himself.

If it is common knowledge and not someones special set up, then my comments are not relivant.

I didn't mean to cause any ill will.

Tips

I agree that tips should be shared freely.

By the way, even if this not a personal tip, I agree that it is common knowledge:
