This is one of the best times to go for walleye and at all depths. I have caught them in 2ft of water on Mississippi at noon with little wind fishing for bass. Also noon with my-step-daughters swimming around the boat fishing schoal edge dropping from 8 to 18 on a tube jig. Also Ottawa River Aylmer Island area drifting weedbed on Quebec side 8 to 15 ft edge and using white spinnerbait over 20 walleye that day this time of year. Shirley's Bay trolling cc shads early morning, before 7am, 5 ft to 8 ft, 1 to 1.5 mph ticking weeds limit in 30 minutes.
So that was 4 different methods to catch walleye and most were horizontal, here's one more drifting weedbed with crankbaits rapala's stickbait and RIPPING them thru the weeds. Great on Mississippi at from 10 am till about 3 pm.
Actually all the fish are on for the next couple of weeks.
