I made my annual trip home to Amherstburg the first week of July and found the walleye fishing the best its been in years - not for large fish, but for 16" - 20" perfect for the pan. My brothers and niece had no trouble in catching our limits within a couple of hours drifting the lower Detroit river using 2 oz bottom bouncers and spinner rigs with worms. My niece even managed to catch an 11 lb 14oz sturgeon - it took her a half an hour and a blistered thumb to land it, but she managed and will have life long memories of the event.
