but i still think this is a good site.........its in nature for people to react sometime to comment or report.........we are all deferent..
i think if coment are done in respect........people can lurne frome it.
some time i did think to just kwit to come on this site...........for some response i got............or for some stuff i saw or wathever,but i taught why go anywhere hesle................i do like it here ,,there some great people great stuff to see to lurn and meet great fishermans...

no site is perfect,no site........i am in a lot off deferent fishing site and its all the same...........but here i do NO tons off great people.....

This site has gone thru a change in the last year and is slower than before....but anyone who visits this site daily will tell you the positive outweighs the negative by a mile...
If you take issue with what was said yesterday about ice conditions...too bad....I'm entitled to my opinion on what was said....just like you are entitled to yours on this subject....I wasn't disrespectful to anyone...you think I was dead wrong yesterday....I think you are dead wrong today...that's life...move on...
Ya I gave you and Akira a little poke in the past about your Ziploc Trout.....grow some thicker skin....the world isn't coming to an end when someone has a little fun with you....it can get alot worse...

Some of these boys have pretty thin skin and can't take a joke or constructive critisisim.(sp) We've got a good informative board, with a lot of young guys coming along and posts getting better by the day.
Did anyone take a shot a BIG JIM for pulling the wool over your eyes last night??? Was it a good read??? It had everyone caught right up til the last sentence.

Plowjock: constructive criticism?? There was absolutely nothing of use in RJ's posts during that period of conflict.. Poking a little fun here and there is ok, but why press the issue? That's exactly what he did.
I've been threatened here, poked fun at, and ridiculed. It is definitely not the experience I wanted. Yet, I tried to continue and learn about my hobby from those more experienced than me. I hoped to gain some friends to go fishing with, and enjoy sharing fishing experiences because fishing should be about enjoyment and pleasure.

Don't quite know why I'm going to but...Matcatcole, kinda put it best for me....essentially saying it accomplishes nothing, more important things, Xmas, family.......health.
A lot of good points from most, a few good points about being able to take a jab. That's fine if the jabber can take one back of course.

Over the past 6 years of doing this I've come to realize that a message board is by no means going to please everyone all the time. I tried really hard to make this happen at first, then got smarter. It's the nature of the beast and every single board out there has it.
Katch Moore, I respect your oppinion, but don't necessarily agree with it. It's human nature to focus more on the negative than the positive. We all do it at some point in time, especially when we're frustrated.
I've put a lot of hard work into trying to make this site clean, respectable, informative, and with relevant content. I think in most aspects we've succeeded in doing this, as some of the other posts have indicated, however every now and again we do have disagreements between members. There's no getting around it and all other sites will have the same. The trick of course is to not take offense to it. Some catch on quickly and others don't....or just don't want to.
In any case, there will always be a hot topic. I actually think this is a good thing. It would be terribly boring if nothing ever happened and all we had was just reports about how I caught this and that and the other thing....but respect of those oppinions is the most important thing that all of us can do....no matter if we agree with them or not, like someone or not, or have past beefs. Fish-Hawk is not the place the duke it out by any means. It's a place for discussion and learning.
As for the site not being as busy as it once was...trust me....it is, just not the same posters posting as it used to be. This is understandable and expected really. A tightly grouped niche of people occupy the majority of the posts right now, and tomorrow it may be another group, then another group of people next year. Hey, it's going to happen.
When we first started this site there were not a lot of other boards out there, so naturally the anglers who frequent message boards came here to chat. Since then other boards have been created. Some by the very same members who started it all here. That's OK. They wanted a chance to run things themselves, some taking up a different model than we have here, focusing on a different type of fishing, and others emulating the same stuff. Many of those "once upon a time" posters prefer the other models and spend more time on the other boards. Hey, that's the way it works. New people will come along and we'll continue to build. Different levels of experience also contributes to the discussion. There are many factors.
I consider Fish-Hawk.Net "your" board and for the most part "your" site. I just run the thing. If some think it's crap, then sorry we couldn't meet your needs, but posting negative comments about Fish-Hawk.Net is the same thing as posting negative comments about the actual people who make Fish-Hawk.Net what it is. It's kinda ironic really to post a negative comment about the very same thing that is being complained about.....the negativety. No worries though, I consider it constructive critisism and perhaps something I just need to focus a little harder on....but not too much...for the most part I have not had to moderate very much this entire year. The board is self monitoring and debate is usually resolved without incident. That's the way it should be.
So for those who don't like what Fish-Hawk.Net brings you, then all I can say is sorry, but I don't think you're going to find another board that uses the same "open to the world" model as we do, that does only have positive comments, no need for moderation, and group hugs. If you do, please show me the way and we'll see if it fits what Fish-Hawk.Net is aiming for.
I'd like to hear some more on this cause it's quite interesting, so I'll keep this thread open......but remember...keep it respectful, clean, and to the point. I thank you for that.

I agree , but I will be honest with you. It is always the same people with there buddies starting all the crap . And it's almost like you only see them trying to cause crap. It does not matter what you say or do they find something wrong with it. You can't satisfy everyone but my god get on with it . It's like they trying to argue. I have only been on the site for 6 months and I have been looking at past posts from the last few years and these guys have not changed.
My question to you is, If the problem right now is only with 1-2 people why can they not be deleted from the site. At least then we won't be walking on eggshells.
Let the complaining begin.
