Walleye tournament Nov 16 - Bay Of Quinte

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

the same anglers always win, because, some anglers are simply better.

they fish daily. they fish unpressured waters.

they want to make money off fishing, fine.

but fishing for many is simply a means of having fun...anytime money is brought into the equation, the fun is lost.

The bountyfishing folks sent me the following:
With this very short time line it will be difficult to create the tournament without confusing the new and current members on the site. Also it would mess up our numerical order of our tournaments. Week # 20 would come before week #16 in the schedule, plus and we already have people who have paid for some week in December. I will get back to you tomorrow with some ideas. Possibly the simplest option would be for Bounty to put a prize and let anyone who wants to compete email us their user name. I will post a list of who is competing and once done they can send in their submissions for us to validate. No cost. Some fun on the water and a bounty prize to boot.
That simplifies everything.

Im just going to fish. I love it at the Bay and dont like being around tonnes of boats so I will be avoiding the crowds as well. It will be a crowded weekend from the looks of things.

I am still trying to get a grip on what promotes discussion on the board, and what does not. My goal is to take action when necessary, without interfering unnecessarily with the site. In addition, I cannot watch the site 24 hrs a day. For example, I have been running meetings out of town, and had no real access to computers since the post started Nov 6 (yesterday). Feel free to PM me with concerns if you have any, or use the "report abuse" button which will alert all moderators and Bobber of your concerns or troubles that you have with a thread or message. Please be patient with me as a moderator, I should get better at this job with some practice.

Beeman: If you feel this is not right for the site then talk with the person who wrote it and determine if it should be removed. As I stated before the two sites are totally different and the other site does not compete in one bit with this site. I think this site is for info, discussion and fun as the other site is strictly to enter tourney's..but the final decission is the mods and Bobber so I do not feel offended by pulling the plug on this if required. I am here for the best of this site no matter what that is. 8)

From what I can see Jason is just looking for walleye tournament to enter and found the Bounty site as a potential site that could run the tournament within an already defined format.

It may have some similar things we have here, along with other sites that have done much the same thing, but I don't consider it spamming or competition. We don't run tournaments with a pre-conceived format, rules, and administration. We could run something if someone wanted to champion it, but in this case there is nothing, and it would be more of a friendly thing with rules in place as to not damage any of the beautiful fish that come out of the Bay. I agree with that part.

It also looks like Jason is just a user of the site, and not the administrators of the site, to which he is totally allowed to provide that information to the community. If it was the administrators of the site promoting something that they are running, then I would at least expect a note asking for permission to do so, and I would most likely provide it anyway.

So long story short, no problem here with me.

Jason maybe introduce yourself and give some background so people will look seriously at your link, otherwise you may get flack from people thinking you are just spamming.
