Douen-K. Congrats on the auger deal, but you should price out some new blades in case. There comes a time when auger blades will cut anything but ice, meaning they still feel razor sharp but they've lost the bevel necessary to cut the ice, and, they're next to impossible to sharpen. I think we've all tried to at once time or another.
Drilling a hole with a dull blade is a lot of work and next to impossible most times. No fun having a big sweat going in a -20 windchill.
Make sure they are the right blades for the auger if you do need them as they're not interchangeable (again, due to the cutting angle).
Just thought I'd give you a heads up since your new to the game.

i hope you don't plan on fishing for anything other then pan fish with the 4 inch auger.
last year i got a 6 inch auger for back up. and i'll tell you this 6inch aint big. i lost a couple good eyes last year. one of them his head wouldn't fit in the hole.
my recommendation for the 4 inch is to punch two holes right beside each other and chisel out the middle to make an 8x4 inch hole, that'll help!!
congrats on your auger!

chainsaws are great, until you hit garbage(propane tank) that is frozen in the ice after some punks leave their crap on the ice after they leave.
i think crappy bay should be re-named as "The Dump". it was bad last year!!!! not to mention walter bay, it had soooo much crap on it.
EVERYBODY SHOULD BRING A GARBAGE BAG OR ANY BAG THAT IS TO BRING BACK THEIR GARBAGE WITH THEM.
Too many times have i seen those little green propane tanks, to worm boxes to bags of minnows left on the ice. And don't forget the hundreds of Tim Hortons coffee cups that are left behind. Lets ensure our fisheries will not be damaged by picking up after each other, it honnestly takes 2 seconds!

To quote David Susuki....."I make it part of my daily routine to improve our environment as much as I can...I do this by turning my heat down during the day, keep drafts at bay and every day I pick up at least one peice of garbage from the ground and dispose of it properly."
Since I heard this I do this every day now...I pick up at least one peice of garbage a day. It only takes a little effort like this to improve our world for our kids and grandkids.
