crappie at petrie after ice out???

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

im going to try crappie fishing this spring, always looking for a partner to fish with,i got alot of bass last year at turtle pond. :D
I have been chased out of Turtle Pond from bird watchers more than a few times in the past  I have been told you cannot fish the pond as it is a sanctuary for some of the local wildlife in the area, more or less for turtles and frogs. Going to look into it this year and find out what all that jazz is about...I hope to get in there early spring with the boat or canoe as the high water gives you a chance to access the pond with a watercraft. Have not fished the area since the no fishing signs were put up a few years ago...

I really hope your not targeting the largemouth before opener...My brother and I walk the trail every once or twice every spring to take a sneak peak at them doing there thing, protecting beds. It's really a cool site to observe. Leave the bass alone.

Get into the backbays with a boat and you can find some great spots for spring panfish. Just ask Nodie, we have had some awesome days back there and I am not talking about turtle pond
