Turkey Fryers

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

They should come with an injector needle as well. Injecting flavour into the meat is a crowd pleaser for sure!

Warning... do not use in a garage or on a deck. Make sure you monitor the oil temp. Lot's of houses burn down in the southern US every year when these are used without caution. Turn off flame before placing anything in the deep fryer. I place the turkey in very slow with the hook hangiing on a hockey stick held by two people...this prevents any over flow of hot oil and keeps you away from the spit'n oil.

Great Advice....

Marcus - I am not buying needles in quantity.... might look suspicious :D

I am contacting my lawyer before I proceed..... :

The fella who ran the show on Saturday had a nice trick.

put the bird (in its bag still) in the fryer, cover the bird with water + a few inches
take the bird out, mark the water line, dump the water and then fill to that line with oil - you avoid spillover
And get the bird as thawed and dry as is possible, no ice in the middle or the oil is not happy and lets you know it.

Is it the one shown in the picture?

Hey John,

Can you confirm if it's the one yuo posted in the picture, as well as if everything besides the propane tank is included?

If so, I'd get in on the offer as well... We do corn roasts a lot, and they make life simpler..

Let me know!

Waiting to hear back from the shop. Once I do, I will put up all of the details as well as a link to the exact model.

Boy, how did I know this topic would find it's way onto the message board.?! :P

As always, let me sweet talk the wife and see what she has to say. When are you placing the order Jazman?

Injecting flavor  ... what you choose to do in the comfort of your own home ...

When we use them, we use the same oil all weekend, then dump it.

John wrote:Perhaps a word of warning for those who haven't done this before... you're dealing with a hot oil fryer that has caused fires before... always read the instructions carefully and follow them to a tee.... hot oil and water do not mix... as seen below !!!

Fryers

Post by baitcaster »

It sure sounds like everyone had a great time on the weekend. Mark (the turkey cook) was in on Sunday and told a few stories (not many) and said everyone loved the turkey and fish.
The fryer is the one that John posted the picture of (thanks John). I will be placing the order tomorrow but can always get more later.
I always have one in the store that is supposed to be for us but it always sells before we get to use it.
Any other questions just post them or email me and I'll try to answer them.
