Fished a BAOO tournament out of Oziles on Saturday.

Put Furbit on the line and did he EVER produce!
If they didn't hit, boil at it....non-stop action and it was AWSOME!

That and jigs!LOL!

After having NO LUCK on a jig all year I caught 2 on one.
Hilarious! Partner missed one on a jig and I toss in right after him.
Jig hits the water and it keeps on going! LOL!Fish SMASHED it as soon as it hit the water.

Bass is now my favorite fish to catch! For SURE!

I Picked up a popper style frog a few weeks ago. And decided to fish some sloppy back bay areas of my local lake. Im having the same problem. Many fish even pull the bait under water and when I set the hook. NOTHING.

I have also lost 3 frogs due to Pike cutting my fireline. I think next weekend I will be using a differnt line? Is Power Pro a better line?

if you really fish the junk go with braid. what company you end up choosing is really personal preference. most people are limited due to their rod.

you can really get away with almost any equipment - if you know what you are doing. the things i recommend you change are the frogs you use, and your rod. without the 2, you put yourself in a more difficult situation.

case in point. i returned home without any of my own personal equipment, so i borrowed some gear from a buddy and took my brother out to a local pond. all i needed was some braid, and a frog and i knew i would be set. luckily he had both. unfortunately the frog he had just didnt have the quality i was looking for. hooks were partially exposed, which caused me to hang up alot. the lure wouldnt float properly, and sometimes would sink. on the first blowup, i lost a pretty decent fish, estimated 5lbs. the rod i was using wasnt a proper frog rod, so optimum hooksets difficult as the rod had too much give. but i used what i was dealt. i fought the fish for about 3seconds, so i knew the fish wasnt properly pinned. though i adjusted for that for all other blowups.

i will be going back for a short trip, with a proper lure - as i hate losing out to a fish i know i should have caught.

i went out again to another lake with a proper frog, and caught all the fish i hookedup with - again using the same rod, reel and line.

if you do end up purchasing a rod - hands down the best frog rod out there is the powell 735.
