What are the plans for opener?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Right on! A very broad forcast that would have me drooling as well. Good luck on that top-ten there!

I'd be careful on Charleston. Over the years there have been people staying at the lodges for early season bass.......oops I mean pike. The property owners are not impressed with the OOS bass fishing and are quite a vocal lot when it come to protecting "their" bass.
Doesn't matter if you are honestly fishing for pike, you will get a talking to.

I honestly feel there are better pike waters than Charleston.....and a lot less BS

DS
Damn true words here... I've been yelled at, and yelled back, many times... and truth be told i didn't always target pike when pike fishing so many things were deserved... but you'll get yelled at for sure, and at best, someone will tell ya bass are spawning in the area and ask ya to move on...

The first three or four links are pretty cottage free, with the first having the most at 2 or 3 cottages last time I was there... but really, I can hook ya up with some St. Larry spots for pike that are simply way, way better... Grew-up just east of Brockville by the flying dutchman hotel (now long gone) where they were rumored to server minors and did have a Mortal Combat game machine.

Though the water and shoreline of charleston are beautiful and everyone should fish that water a few times before they pass on.

opening day I can be found on the Rideau. That was a big part of where I fell in love with fishing as a child. Needless to say I love going back there to my special places on that river.
Wonderful memories year after year,
