Nation Cats.....

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I was down in the US and purchased some CatFish bait in a bag. Man it stincks it is basically chicken liver and blood all mixed up into balls.

I always fished for Mudpout and catfish with worms, not very often,

Well this stuff work here or is this a Southern Mississippi backwater bait that works only down there.

I have tried it here and never caught anything should I continue to try it has anyone else tried anything like this.

on the ottawa i just use big dead minnows, always a success on the ottawa, the stinkier and the biger the better, caught pretty huge catfish there.

I was at Petrie Island today, just south of Ozziles, on the bay on the east side. I worked the area for cats with worms, nothing from 0900-1200.

C'est la guerre, next time.

Best,

I've never targetted cats with worms as I always ended up with pannies and perch. Chicken livers or beef liver chunks marinated in that green YUM scent or honey garlic works wonders. I wish I could find a steady supply of suckers like Steve Hamilton uses, his catches are stellar!

I've always done well with worms for cats. Tried with shrimp this year, and it seems the bigger fish prefer the shrimp. So in my experience so far, worms for numbers, everything else (shrimp, liver, stinkbait) for size.

I read in an older post about leaving chicken liver out in the sun. Does it make that much of a difference ?
