Well woke up sat morning and thought, "I'd better bring the 7 year old Son out fishing tonight". Just prior to leaving, my soon to be 10 year old daughter wants to go...pack up the boat and we are of to "spot x".
Upon arrival - Rain, never let up either. Rough tough conditions - not ideal for kids as I knew it would be, but I wasn't going to say "your not coming" to them.
Launch, set up start fishing look at my rod....Twist around the last eye near the reel. Pulling in the line by hand then reeling up the slack - Bang fish on. Using a fly fishing type retrieval. Pike is in the boat, not big a couple pounds all day.... Lure, half way to it's a**hole!!! Fish gags, other box in car

7 and 9 year olds want no part of Mr. pike. (wind blowing boat bouncing rain falling.....Nice relaxing times with the kids) many minutes later, pike swims away, I re tie, start trolling again....Bang 7 year old is into a bass......a perfect long line release at the side of the boat...
Time to get out of the wind, find some shelter, change both kids set ups for a leech and bobber drift, set my rod....sky's open up! Time to take the kids home.
As prime walleye time hit, I was loading my car

Fished for all of 20 minutes max... Oh well tomorrow night it will be.....
