LargeMouth Bass - 19 Inches & 3.10 Lbs

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I just love these 'yak fishing reports.

Question: did you guys get into kayaking as a means to fish or for general recreation? It seems kayaks can definitely get you into those honey holes where most boats just can't go.

Fishing is my #1 reason!
Same for me.

Wolfe, going into inaccessible waters is a definite advantage but the best argument for yakfishing is that you can be on the water way more often than with a boat, and lets be honest, its alot cheaper.

I would think the health benefit is also another positive aspect of kayaking. And from a bird watcher's point of view, a quiet kayak can probably score you more sightings. I think I'd be afraid to take a pricey camera in the kayak until I was adept at getting around without tipping over or falling out, though.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Actually I just got my self the FugiFilm XP10

It's a perfect digital camera for the Kayak. It's Water, Shock, Freeze and Dust proof. You can even take really good under water pictures or videos. If your a bird watcher not so good as you don't get to zoom in as much. But for want I use it for, Perfect! I'm even getting a little floating key chain that I will put on it, in case it falls in the water one day.

Lol, just gotta suck it up for the first couple of outings then you should be good.

Wolfe, as usual, is right on the money concerning health benefits. Lost some much needed weight and gained some definition.
