How do you find fishing spots without a boat?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Well, if you're looking for help in Montreal on an Ottawa forum, then you need all the help you can get! LOL.

Well thanks everyone for all the nice replies and emails! I didn't know this was an Ottawa forum, not even sure how I found my way here in the first place LOL I do hop the border into Hawkesbury, Alexandria, and Lancaster often though.

I cruised around Hawkesbury today on my way home from doing groceries (Heads up, packets of boneless chicken breasts are $8 for a pack of 4 at the Wal-Mart there, that's a steal!) and found a nice spot by the boat launch and the few spots on the river towards Voyageur park that I'll try out as well. Another thing I have to take into consideration when I look for spots is that it is safe for my youngest. At 1.5 he has no concept of safety so I have to be on constant alert that he doesn't fall into the drink or just speed off of the end of a dock LOL

I hear that up on this side you guys don't have those annoying round gobies. Little buggers are always nibbling our worms off of our hooks
