The Real Deal on the St.Lawrence

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I sure do like the fish porn though, so thanks for posting it all!

People would get tired quick of circling the same spot for hours for a couple fish!

Sorry water-werx but riverdog currently has you beat in real deal pics 25 to 4 by my count. Better dig deeper into your library.

PS - don't tell fibs, that's the prescott harbour not the water treatment plant. ;)
I got 99 problems but a fish ain't one...

That would be considered a Breeder on the Lawrence just so you know! Below is a prime example of smart selective harvesting,

So, am I right in understanding that when the BASSMASTER ELITE SERIES has their tournament in Waddington NY, that guys are driving through this water to catch bigger bass in Lake Ontario? Did they not get the memo? :D :D

Yes most of them drove straight to Cape Vincent which is just at the end of the St.Lawrence & start of Lake O...There was supposedly a 7lber caught in the prefish around Morrisburg. Below is a picture of the Brandon Palaniuk winner of that tournament doing the winning interview he made the drive everyday! I was lucky enough to be invited to hang out behind the scenes for a bit thanks to Timmy Horton!

That certainly is quite the fishery. I've only fished the winter derby at Johnstown a few times. The Ottawa is a good step up from the Rideau, and the Larry is another step up from that. I know my neighbour Jim Miles guides down there for 10 days every spring around Cardinal and does very well. I would say that overall most of the best Walleye and SMB pictures posted here have come from the St. Lawrence, notwithstanding some of those Quinte pics.

So yea, keep the fish porn up you Larry guys. Don't know what the drama is about down there, don't care either. I'm just on the outside looking in hehe.

Cheers

I haven't even posted the best yet...Smitty your neighbor must be quite the salesman because there's no way anybody needs a guide in Cardinal in the spring just add a couple of trebles to a sprite can with a sinker throw it out and set the hook! ;)

Cool pictures! Thanks for sharing.

I am trying to figure out what that last one is.... Is that a large shiner of some type? I can not make a definitive assessment due to glare.
