Northern Lights

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Awesome picture Float....Thanks!!

It was my second favourtie NL show. We saw one a year ago last May, up in Temagami. Unbelievable gift from mother nature. The sky was so bright and colourful. If I wasn't there to see it, I wouldn't have believed it!

There should be more lights tonight and tomorrow night, according to the newspaper.

Float, is that a high end camera or just a run of the mill?

If im not mistaken Kingman, its just a digi cam, he takes some wild pics, but it isnt a special cam or anythin like that.Just a higher end digi cam.Im sure any digi should be able to grab some shots, I will look for em tonight and see if I can grab a few.

You probably need to set the camera on a tripod or solid surface and set it on the "night-time" setting, if it has one. The shutter needs to be open longer than a regular daytime shot.

Alot of greens observed between 730 and 800 last night, it sounds as though you folks down south are getting a much greater spectacle.

Tonight I'll get out some colored lenses for my flashlights and give you the best show of your lives

last time i saw a full range of northern lights was in 71 or 72 - they were red/orange/yellow - amazing

the ones this week have been nice but no where near the spectacle that was!

caught the show around midnight last night (had to study for mid-term yech!) lights were green/blue/white and moving through the sky - way cool

Great Picture! Never see them this far south. Have only seen them once and that was at White Lake years ago. Hope for more pictures. Thanks to all. :D
