Southern Bass'n

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

You could be right FF. I think you gotta run him down the lake at near 80mph and that shakes the horseshoe loose

Gentlemen, I don't abuse the horseshoe. It usually remains dormant. It easily becomes activated when you folks drop $5-10 in a hat.

Markus,

Welcome back Captain. Big fish lacking, it still must have been a treat to escape the serious elements for a while.

Perhaps if you wore those helmets WHILE FISHING, the "force would have been with you" and you'd have slaughtered the hogs. What will they think of next...!

Pretty markings on that spotted bass, by the way.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Excuse the ignorance, but what's the "horseshoe" thing all about?

Great report Markus, but that mask looks like nothing more than a modified paintball mask. I'd have to see the other side to be sure, but that's all it looks like. Most of those run between $30 and $70. Here's a thermal mask that is $69.99. http://www.fogdog.com/product/index.jsp ... age=family

A Paintball mask is pretty much a moulded plastic helmet build around a pair of ski goggles.

I just use a plastic bag over my head with two little eye holes and goggles. It works great until I pass out.

I believe it has to do with Markus' incredible good "luck" on the water. Of course, nothing to do with his natural talent, devotion & skill as a fisherman, which is questionable at best.

Glad you had a good time Markus, I'm sure that Larry talked your ear off and it must've been great catching up.

You may not have caught a trophy, but you added another species you've never caught before to the list and you learned something, that makes it a successful trip in my books.
