7.09 lbs Largemouth on Rideau

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hmmm.... Only 8 teams, two bass over 6lbs and two over 7lbs? Two teams with 0.00lbs.

Compare the tournament stats for that water over the past 10 years. Most with over 50 teams...

Did someone forget to tare the basket?

Just a logical observation.

I do not know why guys are giving hima hard time. I personally caught my biggest largemouth on the Rideau while fishing for musky. It ate a 10" spinnerbait on a figure 8...

Crazyhook it's funny you mention that..

Hawg wobbler was telling us last year of how he catches some large bass while trolling at high speed with huge muskie baits. I was a little sceptical until i saw it with my own eye's... it's amazing how some fish can be so greedy. We'd like to think big fish are smarter but to stay big a big fish has to eat and one big meal is probably safer for them than several smaller ones... kinda makes you think.... it still beats me they'll snap at a bait going 4mph+

Can you also tell us the gps coordinates too

Even if a few people question if they were valid 7lbers it doesn't matter much because at worst they were good 6lbers and that's nice to get in your boat anytime. :D The fact is there are big fish to be had if you do everything right and work hard at it.

John

one of my favorite things about musky fishing and using huge baits big baits is you catch big fish of other species. I have caught some nice walleyes on 10" spinnerbaits, pike, bass and ever caught a 13" perch on a 9" bucktail...

I brought some huge spinnerbaits to Florida and they made fun of me. One guys said" the ocean is that way and you will need a boat to get out far enough to catch a marlin"!
