Tribute to Serge Lapointe (TitoWoody)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

:( :( :(

There is no greater tragedy than when someone passess on unexpectedly and before their time.

Although I did not know the man personally, I applaud his zest for life and his commitment to his passion. How many of us would be so brave?

The word extreme gets thrown around a lot in reference to things that rarely are. This guy was an extreme dude. He challenged nature to be surrounded by nature. He grabbed life and reeled in happiness.

Sad that such a man is no longer with us, but let the fish of heaven be warned...a warrior-angler is coming for you.

my condolences to his family and friends, didn't know serge but he sounds like a really great guy.

and as steve said, if anything good can come from this we can all use it as a reminder to be extra careful when heading out on the water.

Folks,

I received an e-mail from a friend of Serge and his wife Cecilia. As I undersatnd, Cecilia will be making a post shortly with a small request.

She has heard a lot about all the great people Serge has met and fished with and is looking to somehow put faces to the names...and even those names she may not have heard of would be good as well. She is thinking of a little video montage from us all who have either met and knew Serge, or even those who have not. I think it's a great idea and I will volunteer to be the focal point to put it all together.

Now how could we do this....well, many of us have digital cameras that take video or phones for that matter that do it. It could be a 20 second hello to Cecilia and some respects to Serge, keep it very simple. If you create the little video, and send it to me, I'll compose all the submissions into a montage and then be able to deliver it to Cecilia.

Just a thought for a fallen comrade. I have been told that Cecilia has read this thread and was overwhelmed with the responses from everyone.

If you are so inclined, please take 2 minutes of your time, say a little hello, and send it to me. I'll do the rest. It would really mean a lot to his wife.

Thanks.

Ode To A Fisherman

Please don't cry when you think of me Cause now my spirit's free I am looking out on a windswept beach On a calm & steel blue sea

I'll be here at eventide
Waiting down by the sand
A tackle box is by my side
And as fishing rod in my hand.

Those crinkled hands that you held so tight Now young & wrinkled free Are one again young and holding tight To the line drifting out to the sea.

That snow white hair You so gently combed, Is now as dark as the night, And I stroll again where I used to roam, With my fishing rod by my side.
So please don't cry when you think of me
