Stroking the Crotch May Long W/E

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Do you use your rear view mirror when driving your car ??? I do and I don't have a mirror on my boat so yes i turn around every once in a while to see if any boat is trying to overtake me so I don't turn into them.

There was nothing wrong with us mentioning the bit about the regulations book. We tried to bring it up by not putting you down just mentionning to read the regs and we are the ones that did something wrong????
I watched the whole thing, the opp boat came out from a bay not far from the lodge, it looked just like another boat. It wasnt a chase across the lake , he was only behind him for a short time. In fact Cyber was in his slip before the opp got in to the lodge so they werent that close either.
Now I will make it clear that in no way do I condone the open beer, to me that is wrong and he was very lucky to not get charged. But the rest is being blown out of proportion.

He messed up !!!! just post a  a get on with it. I might slip up on the regs one of these days(cause there are a lot to remember) and I am sure I will be told about it. I will own up to my mistakes and thank the people that mentioned something and not politely call them 2 faced bas*(&ds by using angels emoticons.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Not to go over what others have said about the open containers and lsot limits etc, I do have a question for you.

How fast is wide open in your boat?
In my princecraft it was (and I hope still is ) 39 - 42 mph.

at that sped not only could i look around but i could easily eat a sandwich and still be in control.

My current boat wide open is 60- 63 mph. at that speed I NEED TO BE AWARE OF everything on the water so I am constantly scanning the water in front and to the sides!

I also make any one in the boat aware that they are my second set of eyes. to point out objects (boats people logs rocks docks etc) regardless if I have seen them or not.

So how were you unaware of the police boat?

That is a very different story than the one Cyber told!

here is an excerpt from his post

"And as for the OPP story, Joanie & I were heading back to the Lodge both FREEZING so I was wide open,
tunnel-vision to the docks and didn't see the Police boat in "HOT PURSUIT" behind us until I turned to put
into my slip and there he was!! "

From his description there was a chase, as he was wide open and the Police boat was behind him trying to overtake!

Maybe it was just a bit of exaggeration to make the story more interesting but how are we supposed to know? Cyber does like to use a ton of
:D :) :( :o  :? 8) :x :P       :!:
to illustrate his posts. I will believe Cyber's version as he is by his own admission a poacher and booze runner.

Yeah, that's right, I'm a self-professed 'poacher'
and 'booze-runner'!!

You can think whatever you like of me, in the long-run
it doesn't really affect what time I get up in the morning,
and as long as I still do, that's just fine by me!! :P :P

Ya, I shouldn't have put wee Wally on a stringer,
shouldn't have allowed open beer on the boat,
and most certainly shouldn't have posted it on here!!

And as far as I'm concerned, the only one who can judge me on this is this Dude!!
Image

So I'll apologize for my transgressions, now drop it, will yas!!

Well Norm I guess I am a lier and my eyes were out of focus! Like I said the police boat was in a bay and looked like just another boat. If you actually knew Bill you would understand his sense of humour. But in your opinion he is a poacher and a boozer.
But you are entitled to your opinion.
And to give indication of the CHASE, his boat is 14 foot and does maybe 30mph so it would not have been hard for the police boat to catch up and overtake him if they were close. Even if he did see him behind him there was no indication that they were police. The boat didnt have any lights or anyone waving. Once it pulled in it said police on the side of it and that is it.
What I think the problem is here is the way Bill wrote the post, to jazz it up or whatever. Bill has a sense of humour and knows his mistakes and admitted to them. But after all this stuff I bet this is probably his last post on this site which is to bad because they are usually fun posts.

The sad part about this website now is that people who post pics of fish get 1-5 replies.

Someone does something "controversial" and it gets 5-12 pages.

Seems people love to get angry and start arguments, but are reluctant to congratulate those that have been lucky out on the water.

Now I thought this was a "fishing" web site. Guess its becoming a "schoolyard quibble" website.

Pretty good description James. And these things are why many good people have stopped posting, I can name several off the top of my head that used to post several times a day and have gone completely, one very prominant one in particular who always had great reports and was willing to share his wealth of knowledge but left due to flaming.

Yep, sad. I miss those reports too.

Luckily I still get invites out from folks and also return the favor.
Sad that its going this way now.

Not that people that are quick to anger are bad people. Not what I am saying.

Just wish that this site would be open and friendly like it was.
