Finally

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Don't keep the small ones..don't keep the big ones..... :?

There is no way to please all the people all the time....maybe we should just do what is best within oursleves and not worry about others.

If it is legal...then it is ok! Why make comment? Just fot argument sake or to make people upset? Pretty soon no one will ever show thier catchs on here for fear of being attacked and that would be a shame!

WIG,
sooo pretty! And the fish is cute, too!

When I caught my first (and only!) brown last spring, my digi-camera chose that moment to seize up. I was so excited; they're beautiful fish.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

SS,

If your post wasn't an attack at WIG....what was it?....calling him a meat hunter......feeding a small village comments....

I think from now on when someone posts a picture of a walleye and doesnt keep it....I'm gonna reem them for being a catch and release guy....but it won't be an attack..... I'll just be sharing my 2 cents...

As far as fish being too small...there are min size limits...read your regs....

Yes you are entitled to your opinion....as everyone is....but what we learn from posts like yours....is that you are very narrow minded when it comes to other folks on here.....that you only see what you do as "right"....and that you see yourself as someone better than others for your catch and release ethics.....when in reality.....you are not...so stop thinking you are....

And just imagine how WIG feels...people waited for hours for him to get that pic of his brown trout up.....and he gets called a meat hunter...real nice...

SS,

I will give you benefit of the doubt....you seem to be a pretty good kid...

It's a tough lesson to learn that saying things to people in person its very easy to understand...the typed word is not....I'm sure your commnets were in jest....but keep in mind.....they were to someone you have never met in person....and they can take your comments a million different ways.....

Example....whenever I see FloatFishin on the ice or water....I say.." Hey Snagger"...he replies..."Hey Poacher"....and we laugh.... ...but put that in written word on the board and neither one of us would like it....

A lesson learned....

WIG.....Pop in and meet Spence....shake his hand....it won't be all bad..

BENLEGER wrote:I have no problem keeping 'eyes for a meal, but some of them look really small.....man those perch are fatter! if i'd keep all the 'eyes i catch this size man my spots would be empty! i only keep a couple between 1 1\2 and 3 pounds, smaller not worth it let 'em grow. Personal Opinion , the MNR should apply a min. lenght on 'eyes at least 13 inches(your talking a pound) because i've seen so much small fish kept sometimes stupidly small and useless, you'd rather not keep two 2 pound fish instead of your limit of 10 inchers.

Well Ben,

As much as I hate explaining myself as I feel there should be no need to,

FYI, which Manny will verify, the reason we kept a couple of the smaller ones, and it was the only reason, there stomachs blew out there mouths as we were pulling them up from about 50-60 feet. These were some of the first ones we caught that day. Reeling

What you don't see, is the approx 1 dozen or more we managed to bring up slow enough that it didn't happen to, so we released them..

Spence, I'm sure you're an OK guy and I'm sure we'll meet at some point, at which time we can exchange views :!:

The pic came out nice WIG, was kinda waiting for them myself.

That's the problem with this spot. Early winter, the nice eye's are up on the shallower flats. Should have seen the eyes of these 2 fellers when I realesed a 4pounder. Later on, the weed flat is vacated and the smaller ones are stacked at the base of the second drop-off, deep.

It's sad having to keep 10 inch walleyes but it's better then releasing them and knowing that they have no chance of survival.
