Well up to now I have taken a "look if you want, don't look if you don't want" attitude.
I don't object to someone posting a "quick opportune snapshot" of an accidental catch. Though, recently it has been pointed out, by an enforcement friend, that this does constitute "possession" and the rule is "not to have in possession during closed season...".
However this guy, BB 444, is way over the line. He is actually bragging about catching this fish deliberately. I think that is totally unacceptable. Accidents are one thing but a willful act shows criminal intent.
Has anyone contact the MNR/Quebec counterparts about this clown???
This is the type of person that gives all sportsmen a black eye. And while I normally won't presume to say this, I think Fish-Hawk.net has a responsibility, at least in this case, to censor this photo and deny this guy future access to the site. His attitude is not reflective of what this site is truly about. "Good times , Good friends and Good fishing"
What kind of message are we allowing this guy to put out for the newer sportsmen or younger up and comers. That it is okay to go out and try and catch OOS fish off their spawning beds and then brag and post pictures??? What's next posting pictures of some guy spearing pickeral as they swim up stream to spawn??? This attitude of BB444 has put us on a slippery slope he and we need to do something about it.
My apologies to all of our female members, I should be saying "Sportspersons".
Most of you who know me, know that I am a very relaxed, quick with a joke, type of person, but this seriously "got my nose out of joint". I take a "benefit of the doubt" approach to enforcement situations but this is one situation that is clear cut and must be dealt with swiftly. This seems to revel in the fact that he is geting in some many people's faces. He needs to be cut off at the knees and quick.
Just quacking off!!!
DG.
