What's Your Favorite Pike Lure In Spring?
Hi Joe,
I like a 1/4 - 3/8 oz homemade bucktail jig. I use the longest possible bucktail I can find. They're dark on top, lighter below and with a dash of orange in the throat and have a little flashabou or krystal flash worked in. I like eyes painted on too.
Let me know when you come maybe I can pop around to see you and leave you with a couple jigs. I'm only a few minutes away.

I would love to get my hands on some of those, the 6 inch looks great for pike.Relic wrote:MR J...... Sandy Hook bait and tackle in "The Prior"
If the tail gets ripped of ANY rubber bait just melt one back on, twister, curly, paddle, straight whatever. You can pick what kind of tail and colour.
Do they have a web site?
I must be going stir crazy because I just put a $50 order in at

Why do we spend so much money in the middle of February. I also just received today an order of bulk skirts and a skirt making tool, again why do we spend so much money in the middle of February

Hi Joe. Good luck at Gananoque Lake this spring....I love to fish there myself for pike and bass (in season). As for spring pike lures, I normally prefer a Mepps #5 (either Colorado or long blade depending on the depth I want to fish). I also like spinnerbaits for shallow water presentations. As for spoons, I like the Mepps Cyclops (spelling?) for spring pike. More recently, Ive also used long\slim diving crankbaits for a slower, semi-deep presentation for pike. Have fun at Gananoque Joe!
Boy are you in for a surprise. I have switched to Lucky Beer and at $10 a case cheaper I am saving a ton of money, about enough each month to buy some luresScumking wrote:Hey Jay,I'm shocked sounds like you're ordering non- spinnerbaits LOL..Only thing that would shock me more would be a Budweiser to some other beer switch or the red rocket being sold.

As for the spinnerbaits, I've got 35 - 40 sitting in my new box just waiting to be adopted by a loving and caring fisherperson. My spinnerbait adventures just keep getting better but it takes a huge investment to get the costs down. It runs me close to $4.00 to make one and I am selling them for $5.00 so once I break even then I reinvest. I have not sold too many yet, wrong time of year and I am in no rush but closer to May should work I hope.
