Wolfe, I just love this thread!

My name is Mark (age 44) and my handle was chosen cause of my love of ice fishing

I work for the City of Ottawa as a water quality field technician. It is a really cool job I have just come back from boating on the Ottawa River and collecting water samples. I sample 40 different rivers, streams, creeks and lakes in the greater Ottawa area. I have been a city employee for the past 20 years and have done everything from cutting grass, working in sanitary sewers, By-law enforcement and about 15 years working in a chemistry lab.

I have been married for the past 14 years to a wonderful woman.

I have a jet-black miniature schnauzer.

I have a 110-gallon aquarium with tropical fish.

Also I am an avid gardener, just love growing the unusual, currently I am into growing different types of bamboo.

I tend to be more active on the site in the winter, summer months if I am not bass fishing I am in the garden, just not enough free time.

I have fished with a few fish hawkers and am anxious to meet more.

Turn ons = long weekends.

Turn offs = long work weeks.

Oh yeah I am one of the few fish-hawkers that have captured the elusive joco on film. Got to do that again real soon.
Well and truly hooked!

Hi all, my name is Glenn and you can all call me Glenn. I started in the fishing tackle business back in 1990 working for a company ASW Distribution (with a couple other guys who frequent this board Big Jim and McQ). Left to work at Fishin Buddies and built it into one of the finest fishing tackle shops in Canada. Moved on to manage Le Baron here in Ottawa, then went to Sports Action for a couple years before getting out of retail. Currently working at Cote Poultry as a salesperson with my weekends off (never had weekends off before). Enjoying it alot. I pro-staff for Lowrance/Eagle Canada and for G. Loomis rods, two of the finest companies in this business. Fish Renegade Bass during the season with alittle Lake trout mid June on the Quebec side. I do miss the retail side of things educating anglers, growing with them in the fishing world is alot of enjoyment.

G'day eh
I got my name from our farming business.
We plant soybeans and grain corn near
stittsville, hence the name Cornplanter 2.
Sort of semi-retired now after 31 years with the Prov. Govt and 38 years with the Goulbourn Fire Dept and Ottawa Fire service.
So its time to sit back, with my wife and Min. Schnauzer (The Duke) and wet a line or two and watch the world go around from our trailer at Round lake.

Simple reason,

A village I grew up in. Its just past Arnprior, Ontario, and couldn't think of a handle I might come back to the site without forgetting... Where I work I have numerous usernames and passwords for this and that, and its hard to keep them all in line.

I grew up in Braeside, but have to say I would have no reason to ever return and live, even though I fish up there on the Ottawa quite often. I left for university in 1977 and made my way thru undergrad and graduate school by 1987.... only returning there for a couple summers in between that time. My neighbour is originally from Arnprior, and he left there in 1965, and we say to each other each time we drive thru town that we would never return to live... Nothing against the place, but its no longer home...

I fish for whatever lets me catch it.

I grew up single child with a single mother who worked late and we did not have alot. boo hoo  Anyways I kinda raised my self and had to work hard to get half of what other kids had. If I could not afford it I built it from my coffee table to my single bedroom apt. The S.M portion of my name refers to selfmade The 05 stands for the year I became self employed fulltime renovating bath and kitchens.

Can ya feel the love everyone?

Seriously, this is awesome. It's nice to hear a little about everyone. Or in Iceman's case, a lot. (Love ya, Iceman!... and I'm into gardening too, AND have ya beat as I've been married 15 years...SCARY! )

You can really see the great sense of humor in this thread that so many Hawk Talkers seem to share. Great community we've got building...AGAIN. :D

I primarily fish for Largies so when I registered for this site I was really getting into flippin jigs so I thought why not use it for a handle.

I have been married for five years no kids (D.I.N.K. Dual income no kids)

I am employed as a glorified babysitter (check my profile)

And I am absolutley obsessed with Bass Fishing.

I got my name from a old farmer that i used to work for down on the Quebec- New Brunswick border. When i started working for him alot of the people that lived around there had nicknames that Charlie had given them, i asked him what my nickname was and he said that he didn't have one for me yet.I was in my early 20's and full of pee pee and vinegar, i would get up every morning at 4.30 am and be at work for 5-5.30 am, work all day untill 9pm sometimes longer if the equipment was broken down, come Friday it was off at lunch time, get home, grab Lunch, get a shower, and off to party,I had a pick-up and would go pick up my buddy and party untill sunday afternoon, staying up pretty much all week-end, i would travel the back roads, threw the woods, find bush parties, house parties, trying to find a good time anywhere. So one night after the end of my first summer we where all sitting around a bon fire having a few (okay alot) of pops, talking about the busy summer we had and ole Charlie(Mossy) said boys i finally got a nick name for Kevin, Coyote! I said why Coyote and he said you work all week and your're up all night long during the week-end, Now when i go down on holidays and meet up with all my old buddies I'm not known as Kevin it's "the coyote"I have been here in Ottawa for the last 16years , i have a side reno business and work full-time for the Ottawa-Carleton School Board. I'm married to my very understanding and my best friend Karen and have one beautiful 14 year old daughter Katie.Life is great.

Great thread

When I decided to join FH, I had to come up with a nickname. And not having a great imagination I chose the name on my boat. My ride is a 2001 Legend Viper 165.

I am retired after almost 40 years working for the federal government. Guess that makes me an old phart also but still young at heart :)

I fish mainly at Big Rideau for lakers, bass and pike with occasional trips to other lakes in the area of Big Rideau

Laker opening weather this weekend was not the best but I still managed to get out a couple of times  Still feeling the effect of the waves

My nickname is Snax.

As the owner of Musky Snax baits it's pretty self explanatory!

Why ask such dumb questions, just to aggravate?

Why do you care? .............I don't!

If you see me on the water, do me a favor and leave me alone!

Find your own fish.
