I did the 20 pounds limits per 5 fish on many occasion on Mc Bay....did a 22 1/2 a few times also....last time I did the 20 pounds per 5 fish was not too long ago and for me it was a personal record..... got all five in less than 1 hour 1/2!
About the 7 pounder.....saw 1 bass on Mc Bay a few years back....she never took the bait just follow it in less than 2 feet of water....water was clear at the time.....biggest bass I ever saw! I had the same experience with a pike on Mc Bay.....saw it verry well....was in the mid 20's for sure.
Where are those fish?????? still in Mc Bay....God knows!.....it is possible to hit a high six LMB on Mc Bay.......chances are verry slim though!
I uses what I think suits most my chances at the biggest bass in Mc Bay....

those are some pretty impressive numbers. were you using the same techniques?
from what ive experienced, the larger fish have their home territory and never really stray too far from there. usually if you can see or located them, you can come back in a few hours and actually hook them. which is something we usually do. you did something right to provoke their interest, but not enough where they would commit. in most cases if you see them, they saw you. giving them a few hours also gives them time to reposition.
im curious as to why you havent tried throwing swimbaits there at all? is there a particular reason?
