nevermind...you totally missed the point apparentlyMarkus wrote:Well Andy, sorry you feel that way.![]()
It's your personal opinion that certain 2lb walleye are something special and it's my personal opinion that 10lb eyes from Quinte aren't anything special.
I enjoy seeing the brutes from other bodies of water where they are rare....that's all.
It's like looking at Fraser River Sturgeon...awesome fish, but that same 12' sturgeon from Muskrat Lake would be really special.
i wish i had a pic but have some news paper clip about it.
my pb walleye was 9 3/4 pound in the marina off hull sector on the 14 feb 1986.ice fishing derby won for the biggest for that derby...was young and proud.
and got a couple off 29 to 33 incher on the ottaea river and gatineau river.
i never went to quinte so no monster for me.

C'mon guys
It's not like the BS man took advantage of a guide and didn't learn it himself on the most size waters for 'eyes there is...
I guess a couple dollars well spent makes you a pro
I don't have a pic but my best (outside of quinte) is a well angled 12 lb walleye in a back bay Algonquin lake.
Man that was a thrill.....

Just kidding
I don't have a picture of my PB walleye, caught it in Scugog about 30 years ago. We used to ice fish there, and mostly caught 2-3 lb eyes. My "big" fish was 5lbs and I was about 10 years old, it still lives in my memory as a defining moment - my best walleye... not the biggest I have caught, but MY PERSONAL BEST for sure!!!

Well why dont I just meet you guys near a big tree and you can hang me or better yet build a huge fire and you can burn me.
Guess I should have only posted one pic of each PB from each guy.
Sorry Walley man didnt mean for your thread to get ruined by such an oversight.
Just can not understand why people dont post things on this site very much anymore?

I've put this post back. The point being made is that after reviewing this thread, I'm not quite sure what to do with it.
There are 2 issues which I think are taking this to a place where we don't want it to go....
1. Post is asking for your biggest walleye, not the most walleye
2. Some believe that the comparison of Quinte eyes vs. other body of water eys is not a fair one.
Who cares really!
Who cares if Badger posted a great fishing season instead of his biggest? I don't. They're great pics and a great showing that Quinte fishing is very much alive, active, and healthy.
Who cares if the fish was caught at Quinte or not? I don't. It's the anglers biggest fish. A walleye is a walleye, no matter where you catch it.
It's not a competition guys, it's just a thread to show others your biggest catch. I don't care if it's a 2 lbs walleye vs a 12 lbs walleye. I believe that's the point Andy was attempting to make.
Some anglers have had the great opportunity of being able to fish larger bodies of water that hold larger fish on a regular basis and have "up'ed their game" I suppose you can say. Others don't have that opportunity, but let's not get too critical over what could be perceived as a slight oversight in "defining the parameters" of the post if nothing else. It's just Fishing talk guys. I know it's been a long winter for many, but let's not go to that crazy shack wacky place.
In any case, let's continue this since there's some great pics in here that I'm sure others will want to see as well. I was going to remove a few responses, but I'm tired and don't have the energy to go through it again. So here a couple of my larger eyes....I'm not sure if they are the biggest, but they're good ones.

Didn't even noticed the thread was taken down
...What was the problem? The same few complaining about big walleye, in a big walleye thread
...Now it if this were a crappie report I tell ya, there would be some really pee pee off people
I don't mind the hords of pictures that only a few years ago would take minutes to load a page where as it takes mere seconds now. I think there was more to it than the amount of pictures posted but..whatever these folks expected to see here, there are 4 pages of some gorgeous walleye pictures
Same old Fish-Hawk non-sense.
My best walleye was caught out the Ottawa, River in Chapeau, Quebec and was just shy of 6lbs...I hope to double that on Quinte this year

I'll take this opportunity to expand on my comment....
BS has obviously chosen his water of choice and fished it extensively so you have to acknowledge his commitment. And he seems to do very well for what he has learned about BOQ.
Marcus has pretty much expressed my feeling on BOQ, as walleye fisheries go it's like shooting fish in a barrell but the funny thing is most of us dream of having a population of our target species like quinte boasts walleye...
I have been and caught 11+lbrs from BOQ, but for me the Algonquin 'eye I angled out of a lake I had never been on before means much more as a trophy...and she's still swimming

I'm sure the definition of "fishing" is different to all of us.

Been fishing the Ottawa river longer than most on this board, have boated 1000's of eyes including two that are burned into my memory. The unfortunate part of the whole deal is they were caught at a time when digital cameras had not been invented yet but both moments were shared with my children - the first was taken while fishing with my son (then 18 - now 39) at the Rideau Falls - a 38"er and the second came during a day with my daughter (then 8 - now 30) a 34"er fishing the mudflat along the Lower Duck so I guess they qualify as Ontario walleye. Both these fish and most of the others were released back to the river although quite a few fish fries have been enjoyed over the years too.
Catching a monster fish is rare and always fun but to me the shared memories are much more precious.
