Carp show feed back

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Great show....my first time there and will likely be a yearly event for me. Got the St.Croix rod I was looking for at Paddletales along with a Free St.Croix hat.

Lots of stuff to look at. Caught some of Sheldon's walleye seminar....very informative....you could tell he's done this before.

Didn't get the Northam spinnerbait I was looking for.....didn't find any of the perch pattern left and there was only heavier sizes.

My first time as well  ...and it'll also be a yearly thing. I won't be attending the Ottawa Sportsman show any longer as Dave's show kick's butt compared to that "Boat Show"!!...he may have to consider going somewhere with larger space next year as I believe he had a record attendance this year!!!

Congrats Dave!!

I can just imagine being the turkey callers all day. There was one across from the other and it seemed like when one called the other turkey answered.

I think I forgot the word caller in there somewhere
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

This was my first year attending the Carp show, and I had a blast !!!
Went on Saturday morning for opening (9:00) and stayed until about 3:00.
The attendance was amazing...I couldn't believe all the cars and all the people that were there.
I went to the Ottawa boat show (my first time as well), and that was good, but in my opinion, this was WAY better.

BA and 24/7 - Nice to see you were out in my neck of the woods LOL! :)
Bass Addict wrote:Just as we were approaching the Carp Rd exit ,24/7 says to me look there's a redtailed hawk ahead of us ,,I'm like wow got to get a pic of that one for sure.........By the time we caught up to it we ended up Downtown Arnprior
right at High Noon ......

I definitely will be going back to this event next year ! (with more spending $ in my pocket..... :D )

Haven't read where anybody paid any attention to the fishing seminars.
Some darn good presentations. Yes, sure was a lot of Musky Stuff on sale.
Dale's record catch sure has instilled a lot of faith in the Musky fishermen and ladies.
Enjoyed the show even if it was cool and damp out.. typical weather for the Carp fishing show.
The seminar area should be moved to the opposite end of the building next year...it is currently right at the main entrance where the admission tickets are being sold and I found it slightly distracting...the cold breeze coming in through the open front doors wasn't that nice either....

Other feedback: there should be more than 1 area to buy admission tickets and it should be under a tent in the event that it rains like yesterday!!

Hopefully Dave will be reading this...
Yes I agree it must have been cold there for those seated. Good point to moveit to the other end. I'm definitely cutting out the ottawa show from now on Carp is far better for my needs anyway. I was abit overwhelmed with all the stuff there and being with a friend of mine it was hard to concetrate on stuff i wanted as our interests differ. But I still enjoyed it a lot.
Life goes on

I totally agree - I sat for one seminar and stood through another, and was rather chilly for each one .....
The weather wasn't great....but peoples spirits didn't seem to be dampened....

Enjoyed the show nonetheless and I am already looking forward to next year..... :D
