You think lakes will be open in 2 weeks?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Here's the skinny,

Most small lakes are semi or completely open in the outaouais up to about bouchette.

Small bush lakes are wide open.

Took a drive around Lac Ste Marie ( which is wide open ) in around by Heney lake which is open about 40 feet from the shore, and the remaining ice won't take long. Didn't make it up to the Pemich or 31, but there are a few open spots on them as well.

Stopped by one of the stocked lakes too.

Went to two smaller lakes yesterday. One in the Low area, small but open. Fished from shore for 3 hours, worked our way along the lake and struck out. Saw hundreds of freshwater shrimp in the crystal clear water there.

Afternoon found us in a well known lake in Northfield that was wide open. Again we fished from shore and the only fish caught was a small pike. Not exactly what you want to see in a trout lake!!

Roddick lake report. At least for the north part,,,,,it was open in 3 bays and shore to get to them,,,lost a big one hook caught on net. That was yesterday nighg,,,,,this morning all what open yesterday was refroze  this morning,,just 1/2 inch but still. Its going slowly,,,

So its more southern lakes that are ok this weekend,,,should be good to go next weekend,,,,but we sure dont get that wam weater this week.

Will try one of those lakes. For trout tuesday and dor crappies wed,
