Carp show feed back

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Same thing happened, well sort of...

I was checking out the Rapala R-type rod at Fern Sport, which was 130$, same one at LeBaron's for 80 something $...

What did you buy??

Glad you asked, I bought a Shimano Bait Caster Reel and a Shimano Rod from Ed at last year's show...Cheaper from him than Lebaron's

Here's an example of the kind of service you will get from Ed...

Opening day last year first time out with the rod and a snot rocket smashes my spinnerbait right at the boat , jumps out of the water and the fireline hooked around the tip of the rod and bye bye tip..( Caught on video )

Phone up Ed at his store .....Explain to him what happened to the rod

Ed : No problem come on by any time and I'll replace it for you no charge

Me :cool

Arrive at Ed's store , we look around for an identical rod , none left in stock

Ed : Here Bass Addict this one will do

Me : Look at the price tag , It was $ 45 .00 more expense

Ed : No problem , enjoy the rod....

Me :  8) 8) 8)

Part : 2

Phone up Ed , tell him i'm looking for some bass rats and scum frogs , can't find them anywhere locally ( Bass tournaments are in full swing )

Ed: yep , i got a couple left in stock , I'll put them aside for you if you want ... 8) 8)

Me : Drive from Gatineau to Ed's store , Walk over to the counter and see a bag with.. Reserved for Bass Addict written on it .... :P :P 8)

I drive to Ed's on a regular basis from Montreal. Ed is a great guy to deal with or just stand around and shoot the breeze with and his selection is second to none. Best customer service in the business. And let's not forget Sandie, the real boss. :D

My wife loves going to Paddletales but she sticks around the soft ice cream machine that he has up front, while the boys are in the back room.

Nothing but good things to say about Ed.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Good show. It was nice to meet the Muskie record holder considering the hours I spent fishing the same area off Gan. I did not see any big savings although I did buy a real cover. My 13 year old son enjoyed the mini donuts.

ya but when you are attending the show with a 5 and 9 year old you only make it around once, if you're lucky! I just assumed the vendor's would have their best prices advertised because of the competition there but that's not the case. It seems you have to haggle with them to get the price down just like a used car salesman (no offence JP :P ). I should have just gone to Ed's booth first and done all my shopping there. :(

I did see a great deal offered on a Shimano Citica at Ed's. Hey Ed, do you have any RH Citica's left or soldout?

Brufan: We have lots of the '09 Citicas in stock, both left and right. We are sold out of the '08s though.
