After reading Mr. J's post I started thinking about all the good times I've had out with different Hawk-Talkers and I thought it would be fun to hear other stories. I'll start with a few...

I remember the first time I fished after my accident last year was with Bobber and Ransome. I was still in my sling and probably shouldn't have but I figured it would be good therapy. It was a beatiful sunny day and we ended up with a mix bag of bass and pike and a sauger if I remember correctly. I showed Bobber the power of the waveworms!!!!

The trips out with MuskieMagnet for muskie were unbelievable! The first time we went 2 for 2 and I saw both the hits happen on the surface and for mine I was actually holding the rod while we trolled and I saw this huge boil and then WHAM!! The second time MuskieWannabe came and missed one or two and I had a MONSTER follow my bait on the surface but then disappeared. MM's roommate came trolling behind us and hooked into her and I had to land it barehanded. She measured 50" on the dot!! What an experience that was!

Fishing with RJ I got my first Muskie while casting an artificial and the strike and fight was unparalled to anything I've experience before! (until my 47"er a week or two later) Definitely going to focus on casting more this year!

Also one that definitely deserves a mention was the day I spent with M.T. and he caught a 20+" LM on the white spinnerbait but we had no camera figures... If there wasn't 4 ft waves we would've caught a bazillion I'm sure!

I still owe Misses Livewell the BIG ONE And of course so many memories with Ransome that there isn't enough bandwith to put it all down. Can't wait to see what this year brings!!!!! Many more to mention but will leave the rest of story telling to you guys.

I was lucky enough to do my very first muskie fishing with MuskieMagnet. It was probably the best day I have ever had. I landed a 40" and 47"! I even lost another big one! I saw all kinds of fishing techniques that I had never seen and had an absolute blast! I also had a 15 or 16 hour muskie trip with HawgWobbler one day and I htink we pulled in 5, biggest being a 45 incher! That has all been from my first season of muskie fishing. I'm still a wannabe but hopefully with yteachers like I've already had I'll one day be able to teach other newbies!

Every time I meet a Hawk Talker I'm delighted!

First ever was Gorfman 007, when we visited him at his set up on Bob's Lake. A real gentleman, and so great with the kids -- but also with a slick sense of humor. That day we took Tiny Torpedo to the bridge and pulled in lots of rockbass. Had the opportunity to return the favor and have "The Gorfster" to Wolfe Lake for a nice get together. We had lukewarm fishing, but great conversation in the boat. Great company and looking forward to seeing & fishing with Gorfman again this season.

Then there was the memorable occasion of meeting SlushPuppy, Floatfishin' and Chromasaurus last July. We shared a nice meal and then headed off in my grossly underpowered boat in some annoying wind. Most recall the tale of the soaking we rec'd on the painfully slow ride back. A 90-year old asthmatic with a hand tied behind his back could have made the trip faster -- and drier! Nevertheless, it was a fun, fun day for me with a few decent smallies in the mix. Slushpuppy forgave me for loaning her an oversized jighead (I thought she was target'g rocks; sorry!) and FF kept us well entertained . Will probably never be allowed to forget that I (accidentally) whipped Chrome with my rod. Hanging out 'til sundown outside the cottage with fun conversation -- good times.

Meeting a slew of Hawk Talkers with my family for my 1st ever ice fish at Petrie Isl. on a gorgeous day this past February was an absolute pleasure. Big-O, Topwater, Slushy & Bowzog, FF, Roxy & kids, Spinner, Nighttroller (thx for the hat!), Lucannus, HOF, Bacon, Snag, jazman (briefly!), and a few other fine folks... That was a special day for me. I'm still very appreciative of the gathering & welcome I rec'd.

I really want to continue to meet as many Hawk Talkers as possible; and a bonus would be to fish with some of you as well! Lots to laugh at and lots to learn.

Good times. Fun thread. Can't wait to get the season kick started!

I've only met a few Hawk Talkers, but this year on the ice we had some good days.

Ice fishing with Salmon/Sleded on Area 51 was certainly a great day. Sure I was all but skunked but the other guys caught fish and we had entertaining conversation all day. Not to mention the donuts afterwards!

Had plenty of great days on the ice with Fighting15, Sleded and Duker. All through the ice season we were fishing out every little hole in the ground we could find. Not to mention non-stop laughs. These guys are all the funniest people I have ever met - and all nice enough to give a poor boy like me a ride to the fishin' holes.

Most recently fishing with new Hawk Talker Sub-Zero was great too. I have never fished from a boat like that or in that style so it was certainly interesting, and a lot of fun. Not to mention he's one of the nicest people I have ever met.

I look forward to many more meetings with Hawk Talkers in the future. Hopefully I will meet a lot more at the Long Point Adventure Weekend!

I haven't yet got to fish with any Hawk-Talkers and one day maybe that will change. But I will say I have been to the WOODY'S FACTORY and have set and chatted with Capt George the original OUTLAW and the plethora of information he has and the subjects he can cover is really impressive, not to mention his sense of humor is great and he is funnier than all get out!

Anyway Thanks to the OUTLAW & Mrs OUTLAW for their friendship and good conversations over many cups of coffee it made the winter months a little more bearable eh.

I'm still amazed we made it back!

Myslef, I haven't met a bunch of Hawkers but I ahve had a few memorable trips with some, actually, they have all been memorable.

Hearing WIG scream when he landed his first brown .

Learning the power of the Mikey bibitte on paper-thin ice with Mikey, Ron, Claude and Carl.

Me and Carlco laughing at my buddy, running around setting all his damn tip-ups and not catching a thing while we are catching walleyes from one hole each.

Watching Carlco miss 4 dozen fish while fishing with Phil.

There has to be more trips like that in the futur.
