Fish Finder Advice - Help Please!

Post by Pigeon Inlet »

Hi guys, I am in the market for a fish finder for my 12" aluminum, I am looking for something in the $100 -$200 range.

I have started some searches online but with no experience at all with fish finders .. its hard to know what I should be lookin for? Resolution, depth range etc... Is there any I should stay away from or a "best bang for the buck" out there somewhere that will do the trick?

Any suggestions and tips are much appreciated!

Cheers!

For a small boat you mite want to find the Side Finder by bottom line.
I use it on mine. It runs on three "C" batteries.
Abasic graph unit. not a high tech by any means.

Eagle fishmark 320. I hear bang for the buck they are a good unit. No experience myself however.

Good luck.

Once again I agree with MT the fishmark 320 is the best bang for the buck. A great graph!!

The 320 does have a lot of great reports/feedback in the literature I've read. Should suit your purposes well :!:

I have the fish mark 320 on my boat but I haven't got to use it yet. I think this may be too much for you though. I would look at the Cuda series from eagle. They have great resolution and they even have a portable model. They run from $100 to $180 and they are worth every penny. They are available just about anywhere that sells fishing gear.
Thanks to my great supporters Deep River Outfitters, Shimano Canada and Hunters Bay Marine.

My boat came with an Eagle Cuda 128 - so far I like it a lot. It's pretty low end - I think about $150. It can't find crappies though - but it marked some monsters off in front of "The Point" while we were cruising by on our way to the creek. I'd like to visit them again in a few weeks.
 :D 8)
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.
