I excited FRH.
Most of the morning today I've been cooking and prepping the grub for my long weekend on the French River. Leaving friday morning and coming home for supper on the monday. Got a cabin to stay in just on the boundary of the old Moose River reservation land. Heading about anywhere from 15-45 km up the North French and probably stopping at the furthest where it meets the Wawawayokastic (Weak) River.
Walleye, pike and trout be the quarry, chased with a few brews and good times.

Long weekend eh...
Well one of the ideas we shot out there was going to Dunnville to try for walleye, provided the river is in good shape (Grand River).
Other than that, no idea. Maybe take the bass boat out for it's first spin this year... I'll keep my fingers crossed!!
Oh and definitely a whole lotta catfishin'

Well I'll be up at Franklin Island, Georgian Bay for the 28th year! Small derby amongst 20+ friends. This year I'm hoping to hit a home run, Pike,Walleye and Trout. Pike has to be min 25" Walleye min 19" and Trout varies on species as to length OA. Hasn't been accomplished in 15 yrs now but I'm going to give her! You only have 45 hrs to fish, midnight Fri. till 9pm Sunday,"derby rules". My son gets the tsunaimi seat this year, just hoping his youth will keep his old man going

Hey FFF, it's on bud. A little friendly competetion for nothing between you and I. I too have decent odds of catching brookies (and the spot I'm headed my buddy pulled a 23+ incher out of there last week), walleye are off the beds too and feeding so I'm hoping for at least greater than 23" to better my biggest this year, and any pike over 32" would be nice too. I'm not shooting to beat the 40" I got on Kesagami though, but it'd be sweet.fishforfun wrote: This year I'm hoping to hit a home run, Pike,Walleye and Trout. You haven't done it in 15 years, I haven't been fishin' much more than 10 and have never pulled this grand slam off myself.
Good luck, looking forward to your derby report.
I'll be heading to Westmeath, my best friend lives in Ottawa and he wanted something close by. I get few chances to fish so I went for the 3 day weekend instead of hooking up with Fish Hawkers, Perhaps I made a mistake.
I'm hoping the weather is a little better! but I'm ready for Artic conditions.
