Can't keep the girls away when I fish pickies! (pic)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

also love that bay probably fish it 90% of the time, If you see a short, bald, fat guy in a 16' Princecraft up front running the trolling motor stop and say Hi. I will be looking out for you in your small green boat? :D

That sure is a big bass. Nicest I've seen in a long time. Is bass season open in Ontario already? Or did you release that fish after you took it over to the dock and had your buddy snap a picture?

Nop! not open yet!!!...one more month to go before opening. It was a old
man who took the picture for me on shore...he was near where I got that
bass and he witness all the action.....he got scared when I went to him for the picture...not because of the bass but because of the digital camera!! LOLL...old people and technology don't go well together some times!!!!

Iceman!!! I will be there for you and please come and see me!

I also want to meet all of you this summer I was out of town for my birthday last Feb. and I don't want to miss the next event!

Steve,

Mc Laurin Bay boat landing is in Gatineau. The Bay is attached to the Ottawa River. You can get in from La Blanche River but shallow water might be a problem for a big boat...see map for directions

Got out

Post by Seaweed »

Well... no disappointments here.... great water.

Found the spot... or should I say spots.

How much will the water fall in there Bass444? Not much I hope... it was just nice in spots... and if we lost any water then it would probably be too shallow to come in during the bass season.

Long haul in... but I tell you John you would love it.... I saw schools... of big .... honking carp.... everywhere. But especially just past the narrow run through the cattails between the two big bodies of water. My new Fitover polarized sunglasses work great... I saw fish very easily today.

I caught a small pike and one honking largie... then I packed it in and made my way out. Awesome spot... saw deer, beaver, muskrats, Turkey buzzards, heron both great and the smaller version... they were fishing too... and terns and fish eagle.

Got a dandy sunburn... but it was worth every minute. Time in and out... with an hours fishing.... 2 and a half hours.

I think I will be looking for another spot for the tournies..... takes too long to get in and out.

Well Seeweed it will get shallow back there but I remember last September at the Classic 7:15 am 10 to 15 boats came in the Bay!!!.....shallow it was then but they manage to get in and out!!!! How long they spent in the shallow waters.....my guess a long time!!!!LOLL! Was all this trouble worth it???? Not really!... they where all stack in the same spot and the basses where comming in my boat at the opposite side of the bay....Most people that fish the Bay don't now what the ¢¤@¢¤!!!!! there doing!

I am glad that you had the chance to fish the Bay. It is a verry special
body of water as you now know...like no other around here. It is still a little early though for top action but soon enough it will be at it's peek!!!

I hope that Mc Laurin Bay will give me my trophy LMB this year because
on the Ottawa this is the top spot I put my money on for a 7-8 pounder !!!!
