I'm stuck in San Antonio Texas on June 13-16 and of course I'll be looking to do a little fishing.

Does anyone know of any locations or bodies of water I can try? Species is not important.

Sorry Markus....I'm sure Winnepeg will be fun!!!!

No, I'm serious, just not sure how much time there will be for fishing. :?

Steve,

I believe San Antonio is in the Texas hill country. At least its between there and Austin. Out in the country lot's of spring fed creeks but instead of trout they have bass, some smallies, largemouth but more often a Guadelupe(sp??) which is indiginous to Texas only. It's something like a spotted bass, small and troutlike.

From a friend; Just about everything in Texas is privately owned so you'd have to find a conservation area, park etc.

He says those creeks are beautiful. Watch out for snakes.

Try Canyon Lake just outside of New Braunfels(about an hour from San Antonio), lots of white and stripped bass :D, Crappie and Gar. There's big channel cats there, and Blue and flat heads as well. The Guadalupe bass or spotted bass to locals is abundant in the small creeks in that area, even in the San Antonio river, along the board walk in town. There are a number of outfitters in that area, they should have web sites. If you wanna catch some unique perch go to Comal Park in New Braunfels, be advised the water is spring fed there so bring some flouro  Good luck, enjoy your stay :D
