It's 5 oclock now, I should be there within 1/2 hour. I have the small 12 foot aluminum fishing boat that has the appropriate name "S.S Crap" in bright yellow. If anyone sees me there, don't be afraid of the boat.

It's got a whole bunch of 2x4's holding the interior and seats together and duct take holding the lights in place. It's a real piece of work, but nobody will steal it, it would be too embarassing!!!

Went by the beach at petrie island, you know where the barge crane was moored in the bay by the beach. Well it drops off a shelf there to about 27 feet and the eyes like to bite there, I went into the beach to pick up some rocks to level out the bow of the boat, but I dropped a big one in and it kinda ripped open an existing patch for the keel.
Well anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up using one hand to operate the motor and the other to vigourously bail out as I sped back to the docks...

DOH!!!!!

Yep, can definately tell your a fellow Nova Scotian! :D

Sounds eactly like some of the stories about fishing with my grandfather that I tell my husband all the time. Our boats were great, always got you to where you were trying to go, just rarely made if back as easily!

something-fishy,

I can just picture you now, furiously bailing and manipulating the engine at the same time. Perhaps a few choice words like @#*&^%!!!! peppered in there??

Sorry your outing was ruined, but most of us have similar stories. And since you posted the tale, we know you survived the bad luck. So that's a good thing!

Better luck next time!
