carp from a boat ?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

carp from a boat ?

Post by tinbanger »

Have got two evenings of fishing coming up as the girls are away on a two night camping trip .
A bay we fish a fair amount has carp in the shallows . Land is posted but why not try from the boat ?
Have never fished for carp before but why not give it a try . We could use any advice on rigging , hook types and size etc . As well as any thoughts on fishing from a boat for these fish.

i boat fish for them the same way i shore fish in hamilton harbour. i anchor front and back to keep the boat movement to minimum. for an indicator i use a pencil float. set the depth so the float is just about under and if you see it pop up or move, fish on. chum a 20 ft area for a week and the bite should be good. google carp rigs for set ups.
