G'Day all

Hope for some help or advice. Heading down to Peterborough this weekend for my sons soccer tournament. Hoping the wife will let me away for few hours to do some fishing (Being fathers day weekend and all  ). Not sure if anyone is familiar with this area, but any help on what I should be targeting, where to go, that kinda thing.

I have no boat, and hopefully a few hours to fish so any help here folks would be greatly appreciated.

I did findout that the Trout fishing is good down around Port Hope at the mouth of the Gan so i might try there first since thats where we are staying.

Thanks Folks,

Flounder

F, unfortunatly, the info you got is true, but either late or early............ :?

The Trout fishin is good, and Salmon in the fall is great, but this time of year, only thing to find in the "Mouth is Carp, and in a nother 11 days Smallies"

Rice L about 25 mins or so from PH has great Eye, Crappie, and in the season awsome Bass fishin aswell.

For local areas, I suggest lookin into the Kawartha's for more water bodies, and more speicies to go for.

Locations, I'm not sure, but if needed post a ? bout surrounding area's aswell!

Also maybe a guide from PH is the best bet for getting onto fish.

Hope this helps, F.F

Thanks FF

Doesnt seem like I will get much fishing in anyways... Maybe a late Sat night fish. Kids schedule is prime fishing time :(

Thanks for the info anyways. I was looking at Rice lake and the Trent river to see what I can find. Sure dont wanna hook any bass at this time, so maybe I will forgo it for now. Might take the boy for crappie or something maybe even some carp and scare the crap out of him cuz I dont think hes hooked anything that big.

I'm in the same boat, going for the soccer aswell , we play at 930 am then at 1 pm. I know the 12 year old will want to go for sure if I mention fishin, I might bring the boat up and hit Rice Lake on Sat afternoon. Or if we lose on Sunday morning , fathers day fishing woohoo sounds even better no wife and no honeydo list.....,,,lol
Hope to see you about , were with U-13 Quinte West, i'm one of the coaches.
