How to fish in hot weather

With the weather being so hot, what does this do to the fishing activity (makes fish more agressive, or pushes them down deep)? I might try my luck near Kars tonight and need an idea how and where to fish. Going for Pickeral, Pike, Bass, Muskie, etc...

From my experiences, this kind of weather catches you nothing but a sunburn, but I'm not sure if I'm fishing properly.

Fish LM in shallow water with cover....use topwater weedless baits...

aside from fishing (slower, deeper, natural colours), be prepared to keep yourself from burning...

Wrap a pillow case (light, cool) around your neck and face, tucking it under a hat.

Wear long pants (pajama pants are long and light), keeping the sun off your legs...no amount of UV protectant will work in the last few days we've been having...

less exposed skin, the better. keep yourself wet. dip your pillow case, hat, or whatever in the water...

even if you dont catch fish, keep yourself outta the rays of the sun!

I USUALLY DIVE IN AFTER THEM I DON'T CATCH MUCH BUT AT LEAST I COOL DOWN A BIT

Just fish like you would anytime. For muskies/walleye - try tolling. It won't tire you out and they will find it hard to resist a bait being trolled by their face on a hot day. Just bring lots of water, sit back and relax. Maybe fish the slop for LM like Bacon said too! If all else fails find a shaded area and fish for panfish.

When it gets this hot forget about fishing during the hot sun. Have a couple of beers and enjoy life in the shade. I just fish early morning and in the evenings. Sometimes you get some wonderful strikes and it's like Christmas because you don't know what you have until it's in your hand.

Today tubes did the trick for me with SM....light bright colours to earthtones and greens. Didn't seem as deep as I thought they might be with the heat. As mentioned above..........sunscreen can only help so much. I made sure to apply it and I'm still freaking toasted! Weather like this is def brutal to be fishing during the day. Thank God for shaded banks is all I can say.

One thing about sun screen is put it on at least 20 min before going in the sun we did one day and our friend put it on on the dock he burned we were fine. Same sun screen, he stayed on the dock we were out in the boat. He always puts it on early now.
