shoreline fishing ottawa!any ideas?

The ministry website has a section now on shore fishing in the city. I don't have a link handy but if you use the search function on the forum, you'll find a recent post with the link.

on the quebec side to the left of the bridge there is some really good fishing, bring bathing suit and extra pair of sandals/shoes to wade in. Look for pools for smallies and brown trout, and go under the bridge for pike and smallies

If you're planning on entering and exiting on the Quebec side, you will need a Quebec license , I do believe. I am certain you can't bring them ashore. Anyone care to verify/refute?

any fish is good but bass would be good maybe some pike!stay on the ontario side no quebec permit!

Dow's Lake is always a good choice for sunfish and panfish, with the occasional bass as well.

Andrew Haydon Park near the mouths of one of two creeks are good sites for catfish in the evenings.

I have seen cats caught at the Des Chaines Rapids pulloff as well.

From what I have read on this site, the panfish are plentiful at Dow's lake. I am not sure however how accessible they are from shore. Although there are lots of railings etc to fish from there.

Champlain Bridge can be good in several places for smallies and even a brownie or two if you're lucky. But be VERY careful with kids around there. The river is very powerful and there are a lot of dropoffs and holes to look out for when you're wading.
