Does anybody know where I can buy a flat of nightcrawlers (500) while on my way to Ontario, Canada. Somwhere between Watertown, New York and Thousand Islands. I will be traveling up I-81, 401 East to 417 to 17 to Deep River, Ontario On September 10th. WalleyeJohn

Not sure but I will give you a welcome and a bump. You might try the 1000 Islands bait and tackle.

I think Al's bait and tackle in Pembroke sells them like that. You will be passing right thru Pembroke on your way to Deep River. If you want directions just PM me and I will give you details. Where are you staying when you get to Deep River? If you want to get together for a fish while you are here maybe we can meet up somewhere.

If you are planning on buying your worms Stateside you might want to check with Canada Customs first. I don't know if there are restrictions on bringing nightcrawlers into Canada but there are on minnows.

If you buy them in the States, they can't be packed in soil, or the Agriculture guys with Customs will confiscate them and destroy the whole lot.

There's lots of bait shops along the 417/17 portion:
Bits and Baits in Stittsville;
Als Bait and Tackle in Galetta (access via Kinburn Side Rd)
Deep River Outfitters in Deep River... off the top of my head.
several other gas stations along the way also sell crawlers.
Getting 500 in a single shot might be tough, but there's plenty around.
