How young is too young to start fishing
How young is too young to start fishing
It is with great pleasure that I announce the birth of my third son Jayden Jackson Fischer Mann at 2:24 PM August 4, 2005. He weighed in at 8lbs 7 oz two week before the due date.
Here's the thing, he and Mom get out of the hospital on Sunday and I'm wondering if 4 days old is too young to have him anchored to a dock or tree from shore with a rod tucked into his swaddled blanket?

Oh-Oh!
You spelled Fisher wrong!
Congratulations on the addition to your family.
As for when to start the kiddies fishing, I wouldn't get them into it seriously until they're about three.

How'd the little fella appreciate the hook on the Rapala scale, and what'd ya hang him from to get the wee ones weightKingmann wrote:It is with great pleasure that I announce the birth of my third son Jayden Jackson Fischer Mann at 2:24 PM August 4, 2005. Congrats on the new edition to the family.
My son started fishing when he was 2 and a 1/2. At that point he mostly played with the worms in the boat. When he was 3 he was a little more interested in casting the worms around. Catching fish was just a bonus. He also still liked to play with the worms.
This year he is 4 and he pretty much asks me to go fishing every day.
2 was probably a bit young but when he was 3 he was definitely ready.
