I'm heading up there to Achray Campsite long weekend, and was wondering if anyone has fished up there. I'd like to get some trout or walleye, but just wondering what is in the waters and where some good places to try would be.

Thanks,

Brett

There are Lakers, Brookies and Smallmouth in Grand Lake. The Barron River is near there and it has Walleye, Smallmouth and Muskie in it.

Thanks Bowzog...

I'll have to come in and get some more of those red senko's. I find they land the biggest fish, pulled a nice largie in burrits rapids on it.

Any tips on how to fish these lakes??

Don't bother fishing grand lake. I have never caught fish there. I have seen a few caught but not many. If you want speckles portage into length lake. You probably won't get any of the bigger fish that are in the lake but there are a ton of 12 inchers. Marie is worth fishing but you probably won't catch any if you do it will be big.If you want to fish speckles on grand lake fish carcajou bay by the falls. As for the bass I can't help you I never fished the lake for bass. If you want to get into splake and brookies portage into rowan. Be careful at the campsite as there is a fearless wolf. I just got in from white partridge which is the most beautiful lake in the park. good luck on your trip. get yourself a silver mooselook and a red wedding band spinner. remove treble of spoon and replace with the spinner. They are killer in length and marie. Once again good luck!
