Thanks

Don;t worry the feeling is mutal. Anglers have had the waters all year, show some respect to the Hunters if you see them in their blinds or decoys out. Short season for them compared to the fishing.

Sept 17 in the central region(ottawa area), North ontario on Sept. 10 and it opens in the southern region on Sept 24. Yahoo I can hardly wait. Hunting in the AM fish all afternoon and hunt the evenings. Then there is moose and deer and oh boy I'm really loosin it. 2 weeks from today for moose in Quebec. Good fishin this weekend everyone. The specle trout are going to get it.

JP and Markus both bring up great points.
Folks, when duck season opens ...
STAY OUT OF LOCHABER!!!
Believe it or not, it is in fact "private property". Well, at least the land is under the water.
Give the hunters their turn.
And ... HA HA, to the boys coming for the Rumble in Rockland thinking they're going to clean up back there.

The duck hunt is one of the best times a year. It's some where between the salmon/steeie run, deer and mosse hunting, and preparing for ice fishing that makes it special. Acually, I have a pretty funny story about some of my dad's relatives hunting for mosse all the way up in Kanora ON. I'll post it very soon.

A few of us did..nd it was fact that they own the land under the water but the water is navigable so they can't lawfully keep you out..That being said...staying out might be safer

Never fished that stretch, but the regs state....Any navigable waterway is public. So if you can float a canoe in there without you or the canoe touching bottom you are clear. I learned this from a few steelie adventure's
As for the duck hunters, respect is the word. I've had people anchor about 20 yards out from my spread

I mean COME'ON what are you thinkin

It's been a few years, but november's northerns is quite a show....1000's of ducks,

and their kinda dumb too
Just my 2 cents

You are right Marcus and I didn't mean any lack of respect to hunters like yourself, just trying to avoid a conflic and not destroy anyones day hunting or fishing. I would hate to blow up on a few guys and wreck their hunt as much as I would hate a boat ripping by within 10ft of me.
Cheers and see you on the water.

Stear clear of hunters. You can be charged with interfering with the hunt.
It has happened several times on the St Larry in the past couple years.
Everyone here should already know it's illegal to interfer with someone who is Legally Hunting/Fishing/Or Trapping.
