Hi Guys:
My son and I were driving back from goose hunting and we were wondering what the bass fishing was like on the Cataraqui River south of the 401 and the Gananoque River north of 401. My parents live in Kingston off Montreal Street and they overlook the large bay. Any information on these two rivers would be helpful.
Thanks for your help.

Now that the summer boat traffic has slowed down, from the causeway to the lock you can fish the channel edges with crank baits and get steady lmbass action with a few pike thrown in. You can launch at the Old Woolen Mill/Kingtston Whig building. Mitch

The Gan River is a fun little stretch of water to fish. Decent LM, SM, pike and crappie. You can go from the town all the way to the Marble Rock dam- lots of water to cover.
You can launch in the town on the west side of the river facing the Kinsmen Park- not sure of the street name- Ganman? You out there?
Haven't fished the Cataraqui for 5-6 years. Found more pike there than bass...
