superstitious?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

superstitious?

Post by squig69 »

just wondering if any of you have superstitions about fishing or heading out for a day fishing and trying not to forget your lucky hat or lucky shirt? i think mine is a lucky long-sleeve shirt and a hoodie. if i come home after fishing and didnt do too well i'll look to see what i was wearing and never wear that again. i always make sure im wearing my lucky shirt and hoodie. anyone else?

That is the Great Trout Spirit, which Troutslayer actually caught and keeps imprisoned in his trunk. It owes him 1,000 wishes before it can reclaim its eternal freedom from its Master. Now ya know why Troutslayer always nabs 'em.

I am superstitious in that I try to downplay my (verbal) expectations for the outing...even if I'm feeling lucky. I think being overly optimistic is tempting fate too much.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

I guess that only goes if YOU have the fish on, I believe we have proof that your more than willing to pull the net out early when birdee is reeling in the fish

A guy I used to take fishing in my boat would always bring his own net, and wouldn't let anyone else use it either, said it was bad luck, everyone had to have their own net.....I quit inviting him!!...And then started doing better when I wasn't tripping over extra gadgets (aka net!) for nothing
