Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Xmas.

My two granddaughters got a new tackle box for Xmas and are bugging me to take them out. :o

Any place close by Kanata that is safe for them yet? :?

We really haven't done much fishing since the Picton weekend in October and we're itchin' to get out there.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey CC,

you can take them to Shirley's Bay no problem. Just off Carling Ave. Go down Rifle Rd which brings you to the boat ramp/parking area. You'll see a hut with a blue tarp out to your right a bit. I was fishing beside it a week ago and there was a good 9" of ice.

You'll likely see others out there anyway depending when you go.

Just follw the paths that lead out there.

Constance Lake is also a great place to take the young ones fishing.Perch and crappie are the prefered species to take through the ice there, but the lake also has lots of hammer handle size pike and the elusive walleye if you can catch em'
