i am looking at a few adventures next summer ....i go to crotch lake where i really enjoy all crown land no cottages peacefull and big lots to camp on
now i am looking for a few other adventures where not so many campers or cottages to fight the boat traffic any out there or any suggestions?
try poisson blanc in quebec hold lakers, lings and a few walleyes
also perch, pike and bass
just past crotch is big gull
also in the general area is black donald
there is also the big o west of the prior
a little tougher to find spots but they are there
Centennial Lake isn't a bad spot to camp...some boater/cottage traffic but still lots of quiet spots on the lake and fishing can be ok.
Norcan lake is another good choice...going by hear-say on that one.
Deerrock lake (Kalalader area) is a good small mouth lake...surrounded by crown land/no cottages.
Big Gull lake...across the street from Crotch lake, of course.
I know alot more crown land area's but those are the closest to Ottawa region that I know of. I hope it helps.

Zort do you like to fish for Bass? If so try this one.You will need a boat to camp on the islands anbd the lauching is rough but this is a good lake to fish.
If you like canoeing, incredible scenary, and walleye fishing, paddling the Dumoine river just north of the Ottawa is unbeatable!
I paddled it two years ago. I caught walleye wherever there was a set of rapids and there were 37 sets of runnable ones. The bass fishing was amazing as well although i targeted walleye whenever i could. Never been on such a great canoe trip before. If you're not a big paddler you can drive or get flown into some od the lakes and fish from a canoe or boat. A trip of a life time. All i used were two lures...a yellow jig/yellow twister and a hj10 clown colour Walleye, bass and pike.
If you dont mind a back woods logging road adventure there are a number of small lakes to camp on near Bissett creek, up hiway 17 between deep river and mattawa.

try that zort. its about an hour and a half from ottawa. I fish there a lot, I think I have only seen 2 boats out there the whole year. It has great walleye and bass.

If you go then go early or late cause my dad and I went in August last summer to Madawaska and it was 39 degrees without the humidex. My dad is a large fella so it was really hard on him...a 5 day trip turned into a 2 day...it can really dampen a good time! Just my thought
We like Morning Mist resort at Stonecliffe (Upper Ottawa - past Deep River), decent walleye/smallie fishing, nice campground. Also rents boats, trailers and cabins at reasonable rates.
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.
If you are looking for a good spot to camp you should come to Deep River. It is 2 hours west of Ottawa and there are a bunch of public beach areas on the Quebec side that you can camp on. Many of them have picnic tables, garbage cans and outhouses. If you come during the week you shouldn't have any problems finding a spot. A few places are Fraser's Landing, Schyan beach, Indian point, Big Presquile bay and the list goes on. If you want more details feel free to PM me and I will help you out as much as I can.
