If Anyone is Interested in a Get Together...
If we can just keep this family relatively healthy ( ), Brian and I are planning on taking the kids to Ottawa as we do every year for Winterlude. We're only able to get up for the last day or so of the festival due to Ty's school break dates, but are also hoping to squeeze in a get together on the ice with anyone who's interested.
The way things are shaping up, we'll be up the wknd of Feb. 18 & 19. We're hoping to meet some folks on Sunday the 19th, but nothing has been set yet. I've talked to Float, Slushy and Bowzog, among others, and would welcome any further opinions / advice / ideas about where to meet and how to make this a fun outing.
Shirley's Bay was discussed as a potential meeting place; this sounds good to me. My only 2 requirements are that it be close to Ottawa and someplace you'd consider safe enough to take your own little kids, as mine will be along for the fun.
Hope we can gel some plans and have a great time meeting, talking, laughing...and maybe even catching some fish.
Anyway, if you're interested and think you can make it, please use this thread as a way to respond and also check details as things start to take shape.
Last year we had a spectacular sunny day and we enjoyed it so much.
Here are some pic's from the gathering.

if possible, would be great to see you guys wolfe
(Note the grey flecked spinner in this pic is in winter plumage; in summer, it falls out to reveal a naked grey flecked spinner.)

I'm psyched...really, I am so looking forward to this.
After chatting further with Slushy, Constance Lake may be the gathering spot -- still a bit up in the air.
Hope to see lots of friendly faces on the 19th -- and maybe a few fish faces, too.
WIG, you work too much! Come and play!

Carling avenue to March Rd, hang a right to Dunrobin Rd. A few kilometres on the right is Constance Lake Rd I believe it's called, hang a right..keep going to the lake.. Can't miss the turn to Constance Lake as there's a big sign billboard advertising the lodge...Mr.J wrote:Where is constance lake?
